Mutton Lokhi Ghoasht

🍲 Mutton Lokki (Bottle Gourd) Ghost Recipe

📝 Ingredients

  • Mutton (mix boti): 1.5 kg

  • Oil: ¾ cup

  • Onions (medium, sliced): 3

  • Ginger garlic paste: 2 tbsp

  • Spices:

    • Salt: 1½ tbsp

    • Turmeric: ¾ tsp

    • Red chilli powder: 2 tbsp

    • Coriander powder: 3 tbsp

  • Water: 2 glasses

  • Tomatoes (small, chopped): 4 (add when meat is 50% done)

  • Bottle gourd (Lokki): 1.5 kg (peeled and cubed)

  • Green chillies: 4–5

  • Water: As required for gravy

  • Fresh coriander (chopped): 3–4 tbsp


👩🍳 Method

  1. In a large pot, heat oil and fry sliced onions until light golden.

  2. Add mutton mix boti and sauté until it changes color.

  3. Add ginger garlic paste, stir well, and cook for 2 minutes.

  4. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, and coriander powder. Cook for 4–5 minutes.

  5. Add 2 glasses of water and cook until meat is 50% done.

  6. Add tomatoes, mix well, cover, and cook until the meat becomes tender.

  7. Add bottle gourd, mix, and cook on high flame for 8–10 minutes until oil separates.

  8. Add green chillies and cook for another 5 minutes.

  9. Add water (as needed for gravy), bring to a boil, cover, and cook until fully tender.

  10. Sprinkle fresh coriander, cover, and simmer on low flame for 2 minutes.
